NPF "SHAR" was organized in 1991 in St. Petersburg by a group of specialists in the study, development, processing, and application of polymeric materials.

The basis of NPF "SHAR" developments are fundamental concepts about the connection between the structure and properties of polymer materials and the results of our own research, which allows:

•  significantly increase the service life of products under various extreme conditions: 
  
1. at elevated temperatures; 
2. at low temperatures; 
3. under prolonged stress;  
4. under the influence of factors causing cracking.
•  adjust:
1. practically important surface properties (wetting capacity, etc.);  
2. the integrity of film materials under the influence of solar radiation, etc. 

A number of practical results of such research were used to create production technologies of film materials, waxes, varnishes, concentrates, additives, and other products of NPF "SHAR".
